Tutankhamen's Trompet
The trumpet buried in Tutankhamen's tomb is emblematic of how much we know but how much we still don't know about ancient Egypt. It was played on the BBC in 1939 by British Army trumpeter who managed to get three notes out of it. For me the trumpet therefore is a symbol of where archaeology ends and where the human imagination has to take over.
