The Importance of Repentance

In 3 Nephi 17, Jesus told the people it was time for Him to go under the Father and also to show Himself under the lost tribes of Israel. The saviour's response to the Nephites was both touching and instructive. He said, Behold, my bowels are filled with compassion toward you. I believe that His compassion was much more than a response to the people's tears. It seems He could see them through the eyes of His atoning sacrifice. Similarly, when our saviour Jesus Christ looks upon us, he sees and understands the pain and burden of our sins.
