The Spousal Meaning of the Body
The spousal meaning of the body can be lived in the various states because Christ's redemptive love is a spousal love. For both marriage and in the religious life, there are different manifestations based on the fact that men and women have different bodies. And so that's why when he turns to the question of the language of the body, he focuses most intently on marriage, consent, procreation, and how it's lived.
