Documents released by the National Archives show that Ukraine's then-President pleaded in 2002 with Tony Blair to support Ukraine, joining the European Union. The British ambassador to keev suggested the UK saw Ukraine as, quote, not really European. Documents also reveal that Tony Blair was greatly encouraged by the Russian leaders cooperation with NATO after 9-11. And just listen to this. We have two rosier view of Putin, who according to them is a clever, presentable power politician, but no democratic hero. And we rubbish Ukraine.
