The Unconscious Drive to See the World Is Fair

There's a sort of unconscious drive to perceive the system is fair s. If i tell myself while this homeless person is there because they made bad choices, it allows me to wash my hands. People who are high on justications show less physiological reaction when you sow them in front of homeless people. Our stories about the world can serve as an unconscious defence mechanism. This is true not just for people who are victimized by the system. And if we can turn a blind eye to injustice, or, better yet, if we can tell ourselves a story that the injustice is not injustice at all, we can feel better about the world....
