The Importance of Free Time
Capitalist realism becomes extraordinarily difficult if we presuppose the burdens of any post-capitalist structure to have to replicate the particular data that we have under the current regime. Adorno had a great essay on this called free time and he makes a number of really really profound points and one pithy one which I kind of love still it i think he says something along the lines of um it says just stuff gonna think for a moment these two words in front of you free time right? It's all about quantifying this time for activity and energy to maximize it.
