The Night Before Balloon Fest

Cleveland's first balloon fest took place on September 26, 1986. Thousands of volunteers worked around the clock to help inflate two million balloons. A severe storm forced organizers to take shelter in public square during the event. The net was ripped and tarps were torn from the scaffolding but they could be replaced.
