Is the Narrative of Facing Schools Really Pernicious?

Adolph: The narrative of failing schools is really pernicious. It feeds into this idea that k through 12 education should be all about a sort of race for the finished line, rather than a collective experience of learning and growing together. I do think that this line of attack is part of an attempt to manufacture a crisis that has not been responded to. We have no evidence that charter schools al peform traditional public schools on these tests. But there are some real causes for concern.
