The Delay of a Small Plane
Shanice Lander's plane was hit by a beach craft while taking off from Olympia Regional in Washington. Two people on her plane had been killed and so had the pilot of the beach craft that had pulled up at the last second but couldn't get vertical fast enough to avoid destroying both planes. Shanice suffered major broken bones including hip burns to her lower legs and right arm, which might require surgery down the line. She spent 18 days in rehab before she could be reunited with her family.
