The Danger of Destructive Tolerance

Marcuse's essay is titled "The repressive tolerance of a liberal society" In it, he says that the market has this destructive tolerance to art itself. The radical impact of art against the established reality gets swallowed up. If we want to have a free society, Marcuse writes, we must be able to see what's going on from this literally repressive left.
