How to Use Brainstorming to Increase Creativity
Research shows that brainstorming does not increase creativity. Some of the most dominant people in a group can be more creative than others. Ask everyone to come up with three solutions before they meet up and then discuss them - this will boost creativity. Just ask somebody's most creative pal, probably get you a lot further. Go and get them to do the paper clip test. If you score low on that, you won't have thought of that as a solution. I just think it's this idea that we're all creative genius is if only we can unleash that power but sometimes we're not.
