Is Vasily Grossman a Key Literary Figure?
Timothy Stanley: I think Vasily Grossman is probably the key literary figure who is reemerging as we begin to think about the Holocaust in Eastern European history. He says it's the memoirists and novelists who capture the particular subject positions that then invite the questions that we try to research. Stanley: My next project will be a book of conversations with the deceased historian Tony Jut, who was a great influence upon me.
