The Importance of Women in Clinical Trials
In 1977, the FDA recommended that any woman of childbearing potential be excluded from clinical trials. Women are twice as likely to experience adverse events from drugs as men are because of that. In many drugs, women might hang on to that drug for longer and it may interact with different tissues.
