I think it's just because virtue has become very popular at the moment. I think dominance was more popular in the 90s. They were dominant, you know, and just it's the fashion. It tends to flip flop from generation to generation as kids don't want to get on their parents' wrong side. The culture is more fashionable with people who look like they've done a lot of work with cults or groupthink. And what attracts them to these cults is that finding a purpose is just so important.
