The Pros and Cons of Rethinking Tenure on College Campuses
There have been proposals to replace tenure with longer term contracts so that you know maybe you're reviewed every five years or ten years. The funny thing is I think tenure today protects conservatives because if you think about it tenure is only going to be valuable to people who are speaking or publishing and researching on views that are not popular in the mainstream for universities. People who hold minority views on college campuses are people who believe in free markets or people who are skeptical of the government, John says.
