The Power of Forgiveness
In the past 10 or 12 years, certain constructions of what forgiveness is or ought to be in the Christian tradition have come under as presive or critique. Some people think forgiveness as a concept has become exhausted because it's so thoroughly linked with placing a moral burden upon victims. I worry about the same things these critics are worrying over. And I think there's more possibility for what it might do and what it may be that the last few hundred years' interpretation of our interpretation of forgiveness has turned towards this kind of displacement toward victims.
