Germans wanted to take russia out of the war and relieve pressure on germany's eastern front. So they hatched a plan to get bolsheviks into Russia, where they would overthrow provisional government. But word soon leaked that lenin and the bolshevik were in cahoots with the germans. They had just hours to pack up all their stuff and get on the train.
