In a braver angel's debate, you are encouraged to speak your mind. But i think thatif you can have both, you can be able to talk about politics in which you offer tough criticism and tough minded points about how you feel. I mean, there's all sorts of reasonable and justified critiques that can be levied. The question is, what is the motivation behind those critiques? Is it to advance an argument and to try to advance truth and ultimately reconciliation, or is it to embarrass, humiliate, demean and ultimately dofine down the opponent? That's where i think you're going to see a contrast.
