The Importance of Foreknowledge

God's foreknowledge is not merely his awareness of what humans can achieve on their own. God knows them or take Amos 3, 2: "You only have I known among all the families of the earth" Knowing is a big, rich, emotional, personal, relational term in God's mouth. The link between that Old Testament usage and Peter is in chapter 2 verse 9 where he says to the Christians, you are a chosen race just like the Israelites were a chosen race.
