i find it so easy to believe that much more of how we view women, in the church as an institution, has actually come from the world's men than from god. A feminist writer, rebecca solnet, whom i love, by the way, ran a piece on facebook recently that ended with this. She stuck this on the end, and i just want to read it here because i really think that it illustrates exactly what we're talking about. The whole emphasis on sports is about an old wave of american fear of feminization that has its echoes. I mean, you and i've talked about this before. It's too late for my daughters.
