The National Security Argument
Economic and trade policy right now is your son. And then you have war, which is pretty much meant to be zero-sum. How do you come back on that? I think the history shows a different picture than that knee jerk response. But neither China and the U.S. are going anywhere. They're separated by the Pacific. Both have strategic nuclear deterrence. So this is about not just can we cut them off in the next 30 days so they don't have enough to do X. That is wrong. It's more about, if we're going to have a long-term strategic competition with ongoing threats, how do we manage that?
