David Grossman wrote the magician's trilogy, which is a series of novels that imagines a sort of Harry Potter type world. The sci-fi network is adapting the books for television. So naturally, he played a lot of D&D as a kid. And one of the things that he thinks is really inspirational about this game is that there is nothing there, but dice and a map and a pile of books,. They're basically like encyclopedic books.
