How to Succeed as an Early Stage Investor

I don't think saying you suck is a productive conversation to have, but I also tell them they suck. And usually what I'm telling people is like, if you're bad at these things, you need to go find people who are really good at them to teach you. That's usually my advice to almost everybody. It's not just like telling you you're an idiot because most of them aren't dumb. They just maybe are missing certain skills because they were never trained on it. But the advice is always to go get better people. And then yes, sometimes you have to tell the founder like, look, I don't think this is going to be a billion dollar business.
