Did You Start Looped and Go to YC?

In 2005, it seemed like people really wanted business people running these companies. And so when we got to YC, it was like, these are our people. These are engineers themselves. They care about the product, not the business plan,. Not the financial model. It actually took the YC partners maybe two years to figure out what they were onto. But to the founders they funded, to the eight companies that went in that first batch, we knew right away. We were very confident this is what the future of investing was going to look like because we'd seen it the other way.
