The Prayer of Patrick
As he climbed, Patrick started to see snakes of all sorts. They advanced on the young man, but as he climbed, he softly spoke a prayer. It was a prayer he wrote himself and one that people still use in Ireland today. The prayer washed over them like thunder, making them cringe back and hiss and roll. So they were forced to turn and slither away, leaving the path up the mountain clear. There, he left to return home, and Patrick continued on.
