I really felt like I was sort of this, you know, kid in my 20s doing open mics in Chicago and not really having it together at all. And then I met Emily, we fell in love. She got sick. We did not think like, Oh my God, life is fleeting. It can all be taken from us. So we have to strike while the iron is hot. That process of growing up that's depicted in the film exactly mirrored the process of growingup that both of us went through during the actual events of the movie.
