Crystalloid vs. Crystalloid
There was a lot of movement around that time between 2010 and 2014 to stop using head of starch because of some trial data showing things didn't go well. A Scandinavian trial in the New England Journal in 2012 with 800 patients showed increased mortality with 6% hydroxyethylstarchase. And they also found that same ratio of 1.3 to 1 was the ratio of crystalloid to hydroxyethyl starch. So if we say that except for maybe septic patients, there's not really any data to support using albumin.
