Emotions: A Way to Save Cognitive Capacity
Words and words for emotions are a way of chunking information about something into smaller chunks so that we can basically save cognitive capacities. So instead of me trying to express with an entire paragraph about how I'm feeling, I could just say, I am distraught or elated or, you know, use words. Having a greater vocabulary or a motion also leads to health benefits.
