Southern Baptists Against Abortion
The Southern baptist convention last year passed a resolution calling for the complete abolition of abortion. A pole conducted by the baptist sunday school board found that 70 % of southern baptist pastors supported abortion to protect the mental or physical health of the mother. But then it went on and said, we call upon southern baptists to work for legislation that will allow the possibility of abortion under such conditions as rape, incest,. clear evidence of fedal deformity and carefully ascertained evidence of thelike of damage to the emotional, mental and physical health ofthe mother. So the majority of southern Baptists supported abortion in some cases.
