Oscar Duralwanger grew up in Imperial Germany during the Second World War. His education was focused on industry, business and getting him ready to run a factory. Before he can finish any of this, before he can get his college degree, he has to do a year of service for the Kaiser in the military. After graduating, he endures further education with the goal of entering the private sector. This is one of the first news stories he hears about as a kid. Like one of his earliest memories might be hearing about this.
