Rapp Brown and the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee

During the summer of 1967, race riots would occur in over 100 American cities. Police attacks on police increased 500% between 1964 and 1969; 41% in New Jersey. In Detroit, authorities got a taste of what a world might be like if people like wrap-around really got their way. You had all of these very violent and destructive people coming into the cause whose relationship to the cause often didn't extend beyond that.
