The Fed has a PR problem right now where people think that it has more power than it does. So you would want this kind of information to come out through a news outlet or something instead of saying it directly. The entire decline in the stock market in 2022, all of this is a function of what the Fed is doing with interest rates. It is almost impossible to overstate how powerful the Fed really is.
