What Happens When You Read Text?

Reading text happens via two different mechanisms in experienced readers. And we know this specifically because of information from stroke victims. If you have a word like yacht, Y-A-C-H-T, then that's obviously a funny spelling for a word. But to some stroke victims, if you show them the word yacht, they will read out yachts.
