Diplomatic Immunity in the U.S.

There are lots of people who have diplomatic status. You can be an attache, an emissary. There's two principles that, um, modern diplomacy and diplomatic community is based on: personal inviolability and extra territoriality. It is the house you live in, the car you drive, everywhere you are, basically it might as well be your homeland. So therefore the cops have about as much right to rating those places or entering those places unbidden as they would your home soil.
