Is There a Pandemic in Local Taxes?
There's been a rise in action by cities and counties to capture more revenue, particularly on the West Coast. I think that there is even a valid initiative pending qualification in Multnomah County in Oregon that would actually try and tax capital gains on the local level. So yes, I do think it's going to continue into 2023. How quickly or how much it spreads outside of maybe these more western states, I think is a little bit yet to be determined.
