New York City passed a law last year that requires employers to include a pay range in all job advertisements. The goal of this law from my understanding was to give job seekers more information about what they should ask for, says Professor Tamash Obloy. But there's some pretty big loopholes in the law and it doesn't require bonuses to be reported. So some workers are saying it's not helpful. Employers say it's too much of a burden. It takes flexibility away from them.
