The Effects of Non-Competes on Academic Centers
The FTC proposed a rule in January that would effectively ban non-competes. The notice and comment period has been extended to the end of April. Every state has a different set of laws about non-compete provisions, so there are some states where courts won't enforce them. Even with physicians, there are physician groups that find that the banning all of them may not be to their own personal benefit.
