Kinship and capital comes in two ways sort of near the start in the middle of the book on the one hand you've got some in some ways quite hilarious in other ways quite depressing elements of the early chapters. I think there's something that's doing a lot of work of continuity here where there is actually more discontinuity than people realize. The house is this internal thing a eternal thing which is able to mediate any discontinuity and create a sense of continuity when there perhaps isn't what all this is Masking a lot of the shifts of the past 500 years.
