The Power of Play

The idea of children as fully human with infinite value and inalienable rights was a distinctly Christian invention. Many parents have taken away the freedom that children should have to play with peers out of a fear for their safety while providing nearly limitless freedom on digital devices. Play also points us to the generous, joyful heart of God or G.K. Chesterton once quipped, it may be that God has an eternal appetite for infancy.
