The History of Humanity

I was born in New York and then my mum took me on a tramp steamer to Lagos. So my childhood until the age of seven was in West Africa. My school and university and my accent is stuck in England. But I think that experience gave me a kind of cynicism about nationalism. And I know also I'd like to think it gave me a sense of a shared humanity.
