The Differences Between Augustine and the Theory of Evolution

Augustine does not hold that species can arise from one another, right? He only says that they are somehow hidden in this primordial matter. So we may say that although therefore he accepted gradualism, he should not be regarded as the precursor of the modern evolutionary theory. This is a substantial and important difference here.
