Read wise will give you a marked down file of all your high lights from that book. I actually use the physical booklock i mention, but then i jot down the things that i want to remember inside of a mind map - and i use mind node for this. And then what i do with that information afterwards is i export that mind map and i attach it to my personal knowledge management inside of rome. It's retention of these things and re surfacing those dots when you need em are the valuable part.
