The Macedonian Line of Light Infantry and Heavy Cavalry

Alexander's formation was almost like a thrown over bowl, an upside down bowl. You have the phalanx and alexander's heavy cavalry and parmenions heavy cavalry forming the top line. Then you have thes infantry at forty five degrees blique, going downhill angles at either end. The reserve line of hellenic heavy infantry were deployed outwards to plug any gaps that might emerge in the macedonian line as the battle proceeded.
