Dante's Influence on St. Thomas Aquinas
Dante studied in Florence at both the Franciscan and the Dominican schools. He has, in the Paradiso, one of the longest dialogues between himself and the soul is with St. Thomas Aquinas. Dante presents the entrance into purgatory as though it were a kind of, let me say, a kind of confession.
