If you go with a major publisher, pretty much whatever your advance is, is what you should expect to make out of it. Books really do not go the distance to the point where they recoup their advance and they continue to make more money because publishers just sink so much money into it. And if I'm not going to make that much from amajor publisher, it's going to be much more advantageous to me to put together a self published book and just sell it directly to my audience. "I've written probably tens or hundreds of thousands of words already"
