The Resistance to Rust

There was a lot of resistance in Rust when I encouraged us to do this thing called the charter program. People were just saying, like, everybody's a volunteer and working hard and doing their best. Like, why would we want to institute something like that? It would be breaking that trust. But Rust is not a hobby project. It's the foundation of a seriously large ecosystem of software. And if Rust is no longer a marketable element, you know, do we have to pivot away from things just to, because there's public backlash?"
