The Different Types of Hip Joints

The hip joint is a ball and socket joint. It's able to move in multiple different rotational ways so it can move internally externally sideways front and back. The difference with the hip joint though is very deep it's a very deep ball and socket. So we don't see dislocations of the hip joint anywhere near as commonly as what we might do with dislocated shoulder. There is some form of translation though but usually only the very end ranges of motion.
