The queen begame the most powerful piece around 15 hundred and it changed the game enormously. So the number of moves it took to one a game much longer, like hundreds of moves. There was experimentations with different roll sets which also made the queen more powerful. And at first the game was called a crazy woman's chest game, mad woman chest. But once it became just as we know it, the madwoman was dropped.
