The Battle of the Alamo

Jim Bowie was confined to a sick bed unable to command or fight during the Battle of the Alamo. The Texan revolutionaries were horribly outnumbered and outclassed by the Mexican army. It is probably to say that they on balance fought competently and acquitted for themselves pretty well, but there it was never a close fight.
