How Do Primates Cope With Stress?
The problem all monkeys and apes try to cope with is the stresses that living in large groups occur. The best way of at least the solution that primates have adopted is to form these kind of alliances, as we're very close little alliances with just a few individuals. That just keeps everybody off your back. And it's enabling the group to stay together rather than being dispersed.
